It is finally happening! This morning (December 5), Camila Cabello hopped on social media to announce the imminent release of her debut album. The much-anticipated opus is self-titled, and it is set to drop on January 12, 2018. Fans will get a taste of what to expect even sooner, when it is made available for pre-order on Thursday (December 7).

There are two instant grat tracks arriving on the same day as the pre-order, “Never Be The Same” and “Real Friends.” Camila also shared the album’s cover art, and it is a lush affair. On it, she poses dramatically while dressed in a floral two-piece. The artwork radiates warmth and is sure to heat up any cold snap brought about by the mid-winter release date.

The “Crying in the Club” siren accompanied the announcement with a heartfelt message. “My debut album is finally finished. now i’m trying to steady my heartbeat!!!!!!! thank you for being so patient with me this year, i can’t wait for you to hear what has been the soundtrack to the past year of my life… all of these songs have special memories behind them, and i’m not gonna lie, it feels emotional letting them go, feels like the end of a chapter…”

Although the album was originally set to be titled The Hurting. The Healing. The Loving., she explained her reasoning for retitling it. “I decided to call it by my name, because this is where this chapter in my life ended. it started with somebody else’s story, it ended with me finding my way back to myself.”

Camila could not be coming at a better time. The hitmaker is riding out the incredible success of “Havana,” which has been sitting just under the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for several weeks now. Hopefully the album will have managed to bottle the single’s fiery energy and passion. Check out her announcement and see the full album cover below.
