Demi Lovato and Stefflon Don are carnival queens in the just-released video for their Jax Jones collaboration, “Instruction.” After throwing a massive house party in the video for her single “Sorry Not Sorry,” the pop star takes it to the streets to deliver serious choreography alongside backup dancers. After warming up with a live band (led by Jax) in the afternoon, Demi stars in a midnight performance at a colorful festival. The trio gets together as the night goes on and command the dancers to follow their lead over the high-energy production.
Directed by Ozzie Pullin and shot in LA, here’s what Jax had to say about the new single: “Nothing says summer to me more than Notting Hill Carnival. That was the mental image I used throughout the making of this song. I took the idea to my good friend MNEK and the song came together really quickly. The DJ is the controller of the dance floor and lyrically, I wanted to reflect that; hence why we’re giving instructions!” It’s pretty clear that their main demand is that listeners dance through the night, and with such a hot track it’s easy to comply.
