Taylor Swift’s “End Game” Music Video Is An International Celebration

Taylor Swift has rolled out the music video for her latest Reputation single, “End Game.” And, unsurprisingly, it is a larger-than-life spectacle. The 28-year-old began teasing the release earlier this week and unveiled a short preview on Good Morning America this morning (January 11). The teaser promised a sprawling international adventure with Ed Sheeran and Future, and it is safe to say that the final product more than delivered.

The visual is another collaboration with Joseph Kahn. He has directed a handful of Taylor’s latest projects including both of her previous Reputation singles. Although usually reliable, their work together this era has been rather hit or miss. “Look What You Made Me Do” was lavish and suitably dramatic (if a little grating), while “…Ready For It” missed the mark. Thankfully, his latest seems to signify a return to form.

In it, Taylor plays the role of a partying globe-trotter. Opening with her taking in the views of Miami, Tokyo and London from various hotel rooms, the hitmaker proceeds to visit each of the cities. She and Future host an event on a luxury yacht in Miami, and she is joined by Ed in Tokyo. What follows is a series of glamour shots as she and her dancers take over the various cities to dance on a double-decker bus, take in the stars on a beach and visit an arcade. There is not much going on plot-wise, but the visual is obviously high-budget and exceptionally well-styled. That alone should guarantee that it will be a hit.

“End Game” may not be the strongest song on the LP, but the star-studded collaboration is heating things up. While Reputation is a mega-seller, none of the singles have made a lasting impression on pop culture. Taylor is clearly hoping to change that with her latest. The track is already top 10 at pop radio and has broken into the top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100. With its success, it could breathe a little life into the topsy-turvy era. Will this be the single to help her turn the corner? Watch the visual up top and make your own judgments!
